Report hate crime to us

If you’ve experienced or witnessed a hate crime or hate incident you can report this anonymously and confidentially through Citizens Advice Manchester.

As a registered third party hate crime reporting centre, our trained staff can provide advice and tell you where to get more information and support.

 
  • A hate crime is a criminal offence that is motivated by hostility or prejudice based upon a person's disability, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation and transgender identity.

    Hate crimes can take many forms including physical attacks, threat of attack, verbal abuse and harassment.

  • A hate incident is any non-crime incident which is perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on a person’s perceived disability, race, religion, alternative subculture or sexual orientation, or against a person who is transgender or perceived to be transgender.

  • As a registered third party hate crime reporting centre, you can report hate crime to us anonymously and confidentially if you don’t feel comfortable speaking directly to the police.

    Our trained advisors can give you free, confidential and advice, guide you through the reporting process and direct you to specialist support organisations and resources if needed.
